5 17 2008 Kissena Track Women's Clinic

Report by John Campo:
-
Saturday women's clinic was a great success as the above pictures show. Joe Brennan and Dan Lim were there to help and I gave a little speech on the former National and World Champions that have come out of our velodrome; Alice Church, Nancy Burhart, Sueanne Timerman, Bronwin Law, Elizabeth Emmery and others.
-
With the children's Star Track program going great guns - and Juniors starting to emerge as a force we have a lot to be thankful for. Mary Lynne Williams has helped greatly in organizing this effort and I see big things in store for this rider.
-
Thanks to all the women that came out. I was surely impressed with all of them and the skills they showed as some were there for the first time. Hope to see you all during the year at the races.

It has been so awesome learning track racing at Kissena with other women. Kudos to Joe and Mary-Lynne as well as John Campo for being so supportive of new women bike racers! There's quite a few of us out there, as you can see, who are eager and are looking for guidance. Today's CRCA women's clinic in CP was fantastic too! See you at the June clinic...
