8 30 2009 Kissena States Sprints

So my main goal today and this year was to post a good flying 200 meter time, it turned out to be 12.57 seconds in a 108" gear (52x13). This is a full second faster than my best time from last year, and it is a relatively good time for Kissena Track. Even though I was consistently posting times below 13 seconds in training, I wanted to do it at an official Kissena event. The icing on the cake - I got the bronze medal for the Cat 4's in the Match Sprints. Alexander Barouh got the gold along with several other medals for various events and the overall ominium win, while Jody Pogue got the silver. Some standouts at this year states were Mike Wilzipeski (Master 50+) who won the Cat 4 Kilo event. Luca Zeray who won the Cat 4's scratch and keirin races, not bad for a 16 year old junior who has been racing for less than two years (coached by John Campo). Stephanie Torres another junior who got second in the women's Match Sprints (coached by her dad who was a former sprinter).
