Today was another Saturday event in the Kissena Royale series - the turn out was not as large as the last, but it was still a good day of racing/training. I won the combined Masters / Cat 4 Keirin event using a 47 x 14" gear, which provided great acceleration. I've never used a combination like this before in racing, reason being the chain length becomes too long. This doesn't allow much room to tighten the rear wheel on the drop outs. I also don't like switching chains, obviously you would need two chains of varying lengths to cater for large chain rings, small chain rings and various cog combinations.

Rear wheel hanging on for dear life due to funky gear ratio leading to excessive chain

I won this scary looking jersey for the Keirin - hmmm an appropriate jersey to signify the end of the world today at 9 pm Eastern Standard Time..
